STEVE FOSSETT (USA) - Skipper 59
Yachtsman, balloonist and endurance sportsman, Steve Fossett has made speed sailing a specialty,
setting 21 official world records (14 standing) and
9 distance race records (8 standing) since 1993. Steve has twice set the prestigious
24 Hour Record of Sailing, and was named 2001 Rolex Yachtsman of the Year,
among many honors.
On the maxi catamaran 'PlayStation', in October 2001 Steve and crew set a
startling TransAtlantic record of 4 days 17 hours - shattering the previous
record by 43 hours 35 minutes - an increase in average speed of more than 7 knots.
Tenacious in his quest to become the first person to achieve the First Solo
Balloon Flight Round the World, Steve finally succeeded in his 6th attempt in
the 'Bud Light Spirit of Freedom' (19 June - 4 July 2002). With copilot Terry
Delore, Steve has set 9 of the 19 Glider Open records including the first 2,000
km Out-and-Return and the first 1,500 km Triangle. His achievements as a jet
pilot include the records for non-supersonic airplanes for U.S. Transcontinental
(2h 56m - 726.83 mph) Australia Transcontinental (705.06 mph) and Round the
World Westbound (500.56 mph). He received aviation's highest award for 2002
-- the Gold Medal of Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI).
In addition, he has completed premier endurance sports events including the
Iditarod, Ironman Triathlon, and the English Channel swim. His complete sports

Adrienne Cahalan (AUS) - Navigator 39
A 12 time Sydney-Hobart veteran as well as navigator on Steve Fossett's 2002 Fastnet Course world record on PlayStation (now Cheyenne), Adrienne was navigator/co-skipper with current Cheyenne Watch Captain Brian Thompson on Maiden II's trio of 2002 speed records - Antigua-Newport, Cross Channel and 24 Hour record passages. She was navigator on Kingfisher's 2001 win in the EDS Atlantic Challenge, 2003 Admirals Cup winner for Australia as navigator on Aftershock, and was named Australian Yachtswoman of the Year 2003.
Adrienne has been navigator on 2 RTW's: Royal & Sun Alliance's 1998 record attempt when they were dismasted in the Southern Ocean and the 1993-4 Whitbread on Heineken.
She has recently completed her Master of Science in Applied Meteorology, specializing in the weather of the Southern Ocean, and has 3 times been nominated as World Yachtswoman of the Year.

DAVID SCULLY (USA) - Watch Captain 47
David Scully started up Fossett's multihull sailing program in 1993. The
first race was the two-handed Round Britain & Ireland which Scully and
Fossett won less that two months following the purchase of Lakota. David
has sailed 12 official World Records with Fossett, usually as Watch Captain,
including the TransAtlantic Record and the 24 Hour Record. When Cheyenne is not on record
attempts, Scully is the Boat Captain which involves managing all boat preparations.
Scully sailed single handed Round the World in the BOC (now "Around
Alone") in the 60 foot monolhull Coyote in 1994 scoring a 4th Place
finish. He previously was the first American to compete in the Figaro, the
gruelling single handed race, and has competed on a full array of sailing
vessels from America's Cup 12-meter, Olympic Sailboard, 50 Footer, Adventure
catamarans and 40 Foot catamarans.

BRIAN THOMPSON (GB) - Watch Captain 41
Brian Thompson is the most accomplished British multihull sailor. From 1993 until 2001 he sailed with
Steve Fossett on Lakota, Stars & Stripes and PlayStation as a key player and watch captain in achieving
9 World Records and 9 major race records. Before joining Fossett he won his class in the 1992 Estar
singlehanded transatlantic race in his 35' trimaran, setting a transatlantic record for this class
which still stands.
In 2001 he was a helmsman on the Open 60 "Kingfisher" which won the EDS Atlantic Challenge in 2001.
Then he finished a close second in the singlehanded Mini-Transat of 2001.
During 2002 he applied his experience in record-setting to the Maiden II program where he was co-skipper
for Antigua-Newport, Cowes-St Malo and the extraordinary 24-Hour Record of 694 miles, which exceeded the
687 mile record of PlayStation. He was Skipper for the Round Britain & Ireland Record which broke the 8
year old record of Lakota by nearly a day and was in turn recovered by PlayStation just one month later.
Brian rejoined the PlayStation program to be the Navigator in the record breaking East-West Transatlantic
from Cadiz to San Salvador. He is now the designated Skipper for Tracy Edward's upcoming Maiden II
/ 'Qatar 2006' racing program.

JACQUES VINCENT (FR) 41
Jacques Vincent is one of the most experienced Round the World sailors.
He sailed the epic Jules Verne in 1993 on 'Commodore' which lowered the
record from 109 days to 79 days 6 hours.
He has completed 4 Whitbread/Volvo RTW races (2 as watch leader) and The
Race as watch captain on Team Adventure (2001). He crewed for the monohull
transatlantic record by 'Mari-Cha III' in 1998 and has been actively sailing
60' Trimaran races since 1995 and currently co-skipper on 'SODEBO'.
In 1999 he competed in the Eco-Challenge in the Phillipines.

MARK FEATHERSTONE (GB) - Engineer 47
For 18 years, Mark has been working within the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and completed
over 300 services. He has been awarded The Queen's Jubilee Medal for services to lifesaving at sea. He is
a certified Offshore Yacht Master and Marine Engineer. He has been crew on 5 World Records over the past
2 1/2 years on PlayStation including the Trans Mediterranean Record and the East-West TransAtlantic
(Cadiz-San Salvador) Record.
Prior to joining Fossett's sailing program, he made a circumnavigation of England in a 15 foot inflatable
boat in just 9 days.

DAMIAN FOXALL (IRL) 34
Damian is one the top Irish sailors in international competing today. In the past 2 years he has competed
in the Grand Prix Multihull circuit on Sergio Tacchini, sailed the Volvo Ocean Race on Tyco, made a RTW/
Jules Verne attempt on Kingfisher, and run his own Olympic Toronado campaign. Depending on the competition,
he may be a helmsman, trimmer or navigator.
He competed twice in La Solitaire du Figaro, scoring the first leg win by a non-French sailor in 1998 and
being named top Rookie in 1997. He sailed on PlayStation in a TransAtlantic attempt in 2000 and The Race in 2001.
In total he has sailed 15 TransAtlantics and covered over 165,000 miles in his sailing career.

MIKE BEASLEY (NZL) 35
Mike combines his experience in boatbuilding with extensive sailing experience to fulfil the role
of boat builder on Cheyenne's Round the World record attempt. He has worked on the construction teams
for the last 2 America's Cups and the last 2 Volvo/Whitbread Ocean Races. He has sailed as helmsman,
tactician and trimmer in many classes of racing boats including Etchells and Melges 24's.

FRASER BROWN (NZL) 29
Kiwi Fraser Brown is a versatile professional ocean sailor, with an impressive list of world records and race wins to his credit.
In 2003 he finished 2nd in the Daimler-Chrysler North Atlantic Challenge on the Open 60 Team888.
In 2002 Fraser had a very big year for records - as Watch Leader on Maiden
II's successful Round Britain and Ireland record (shortly to be superseded by
Steve Fossett's 'PlayStation' - with Fraser as Helmsman) as well as being
Helmsman on Maiden II's 24 hour sailing speed record (695 miles), Cross Channel record, and new Antigua - Newport record.
In 2001 he was Navigator on the 60ft trimaran Bayer on their successful
Calais - Dover record run and 7th in the Sydney Harbour 12 foot skiff
Interdominions.
In 2000 he finished 1st in the NZ 12 foot skiff team selection trials and was 1st in the prestigious Antigua race week on Sayonara.

NICK LEGGATT (ZAR) 37
South African Nick Leggatt has been a key crew member on Cheyenne (previously PlayStation) for the past several seasons, including the highly successful
2002 Round Britain and Ireland and 2003 Columbus Route E-W TransAt world records.
Nick has sailed on a wide variety of yachts, including two seasons on a classic 12 Metre, with several seasons as skipper on charter / private yachts in
the Caribbean, Turkey, the Indian Ocean and the African coast.
Also a winner of one South African National Championship, he has made 15 transatlantic passages, including 5 transatlantic races: Navigator on winning
yacht in CRRS Division in 2000 Cape to Rio Race, Skipper on Buenos Aires - Cape Town race, plus Lisbon - Cape Town and Cape - Uruguay races.
Nick is also a fine photographer who has contributed to international sailing magazines, providing as well many of the photos used on this site.

GUILLERMO ALTADILL (ES) 41
Guillermo is a veteran of 5 Round the World races. He sailed on 'Club Med'
to win The Race in 2001, on 'Assa Abloy' as watch captain in the 2001-02
Volvo, on 'Kingfisher 2' as watch captain in the 2003 Jules Verne record
attempt, and on two previous Whitbread races.
On 'Club Med' he sailed the 24 Hour Record of 655 miles and the Transatlantic
East-to-West record (Cadiz-San Salvador). He has won 5 national championships
in Spain and coached Olympic Teams of Spain 3 times and Portugal once.

Paul was responsible for the construction and testing of Cheyenne's current
inventory of Cuben Fibre sails. He has sailed 4 official world records on
the crew 'Cheyenne' (then 'PlayStation'). In addition his experience includes
2 Whitbreads, 2 Worrell 1000's, and 9 transatlantic crossings.

JUSTIN SLATTERY (IRE) - 29
29 year old Justin Slattery from Co. Wexford in Ireland has over 8 years of international
professional sailing experience - in some of the world's most prestigious events.
Although bowman is his primary racing position, his skills are well-rounded - trimming, rig
management and rigging included - and he has also been extensively involved in winch and deck
layouts and installations. Justin's international career highlights include:

STAN HONEY (USA) -Cheyenne Routing Consultant
Stan Honey is one of the world's most successful sailing navigators. He has
been Navigator on 4 of the PlayStation world records including the sensational
Transatlantic record in October 2001. He is also the regular Navigator on Roy
Disney's highly successful Pyewacket programs. Overall Stan has navigated 18
transpacific races and won 8. He has set 10 records for major distance races as
navigator including Newport-Bermuda, Transpac, Chicago-Mackinac, and Swiftsure.
As a skipper he won his class in the 2003 Transpac sailing his Cal 40 and
holds the monohull singlehanded record from an earlier Transpac.
He has won 2 Emmys for technical innovation for his Yellow First Down line on
televised football and the K-Zone for televised baseball. He pioneered
vehicle navigation and digital mapping technology in the 1980's. He holds 16 patents
in broadcast enhancement technology and navigation technology.
